Second Express Entry draw in less than two weeks sees 10-point drop in cut-off score

The size of this invitation round which is 3000 ITA’s continues the trend seen through the last three draws, all of which also issued Invitations to Apply, or ITAs, to 3,000 Express Entry candidates. In 2017, IRCC had an admissions target of 71,700 and finished the year having issued a total of 86,023 ITAs. One can speculate about the recent draw being an indication of how IRCC will conduct future draws. Abolition of 457 and Introduction of Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) Subclass 482 Visa.

The 457 visa is abolished as of 18 March 2018 and is being replaced by the Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) Subclass 482 visa. This will be a change which affects all employers who sponsor staff, and the changes to the legislation are extensive. The changes are effective 18 March 2018. 2018 promises growth in Tech jobs in Canada

The tech industry in Canada boasts of 488,000 IT professionals, who work in diverse fields ranging from project management, to software development, to data analysis, to information security. In the last year, the number of jobs in the technology field grew by 11,500, making it one of the fastest growing sectors in Canada. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited a total of 3,000 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 442 to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence in its third Express Entry draw of February 7th 2018. Latest Express Entry draw invites candidates at lower CRS cut-off

A total of 2,750 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking Score [CRS] of 444 were invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence in the latest Express Entry draw of the year, which took place on January 24th. This is the sixth time the Government of Canada conducts a draw under the ‘tie-break’ procedure. In this event, multiple candidates who have the required cut-off score were ranked according to the date and time that their profiles were first submitted. Summary of 17 January 2018 changes to the lists of eligible skilled occupations

Changes to the lists of eligible skilled occupations for Australia’s skilled visa programs have come in to effect on 17th January 2018. This includes occupations that will be: added to the lists of eligible skilled occupations; moved between the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) and the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) for particular visa programs; or removed from the lists of eligible skilled occupations.
